NDIS
Dietetics Service for NDIS Participants
I am able to support NDIS clients who are self-managed or plan managed. Every client requires an updated NDIS service initiation plan as well as a service agreement plan to commence services.
I offer clinic appointments from Baby Steps Health Center or alternatively face to face telehealth appointments or telephone call services.

For all NDIS dietetics services a minimum of 6 hours is required. If I do not require the full 6 hours to undertake your assessment, review and report. I will discuss this with you. If this is the case you maybe able to redirect your funding to other therapies.
The following NDIS funding items can be used for dietetics services:Capacity Building Supports:

The process
Initial dietary assessment:
Initial dietary assessment will take 90 minutes to accurately assess nutritional status as well as to plan how best your nutritional management plan will directly support your NDIS goals. This session will include learning about you and your family, hobbies, other health professional supports and intervention’s and education. We will assess current nutritional status and current intake along side any relevant medical diagnosis, prescribed medication, and comparative standards such as growth measures, blood tests. In addition any nutritional impact symptoms that you maybe experiencing such as constipation, abdominal pain, feed intolerance, vomiting, chewing or swallowing concerns will be assessed and discussed in great detail. If any of these symptoms are chronic and ongoing I will often require a 1-2 week diary of when these occur and how it relates to any feed intolerance experienced if you are reliant on tube feeds. If you require a feeding plan for tube feeds we may require a longer assessment of up to 2 hours over one or two appointments.
Diet analysis is often conducted after an initial assessment to help identify nutrient gaps or validate adequate nutrient intakes for those on highly restricted diets due to limited variety of accepted foods, reduce intake due to food refusal or feed intolerance.
After your initial assessment if maybe required I contact other allied health professionals to review progress and management plans in a team approach where mealtime management overlaps. This collaboration often enables health professionals to build a plan that is centered around the goals that are important to you.
Review appointment:
Your first review appointment 60minutes will be scheduled 1-2 weeks after your initial assessment. At this appointment I will review progress with your therapeutic nutrition plan. This plan will normally be provided after the initial assessment via email. Occasionally the plan will be delivered at your first review. This is based on what we are able to achieve in the initial assessment.
Ongoing reviews:
If you choose to continue to work with me, we will discuss what dietetic service intervals will look like for you. Further reviews are normally scheduled 2-4 monthly depending however this is based on individual needs.
Reports:
These are required for ongoing funding yearly and time will be allocated within your funding budget. Depending on the therapeutic interventions a report takes 1-2 hours. This includes any changes required once review by your family and support team.
Consultation:
If required I am able to attend team meetings. This is induvial and will need to be requested in advanced within my allocated working hours.
