The Process

How does a dietetic consultation work?

We’ll start with a 60-minute initial consultation (online or in-person, it’s up to you). This will usually include an assessment of:

Growth & growth history

Feeding and mealtimes

Dietary intake

What your child eats and nutritional adequacy. What nutrition they’re getting.

Discussion of any clinical requirements

Such as reviewing medical history or blood tests or stool tests results.

Any specific concerns you have

Every baby, child and teen is unique and every case is different. So what we discuss and assess may vary.

Written report & guidance

During the consultation, I will give you guidance and support so you feel more confident before leaving the session. I will provide a nutrition guide with specific goals and recommendations to match these goals. This means you always have something to refer back to. This allows you reflect on the goals and recommendations in your own time.

Ongoing support, follow-ups & reviews

30-40-minute review (online or in-person, it’s up to you). Most often we require at least one review to assess what has worked and what sometimes hasn’t worked. We then develop and build on previous goals.

After this time should you need ongoing reviews or support, we can discuss your options  and go from there.
